Brand Builder Award of the Year Goes to Tikkurila
The Brand Builder Award of the Year is the renewed type of recognition of the Finnish Association of Advertisers’ Advertiser of the Year Award. In addition to the name, the grounds for assessment and related processes of the award have been renewed. Attention is now being given more to, for instance, protection of the trademark. The first Brand Builder of the Year recognition was received by Tikkurila Oy, which is responsible for Kemira’s paint business, in connection with the Annual Meeting of the Finnish Association of Advertisers on 27 March 2008.
This recognition is being given each year to one member enterprise of the
Association which has been a model example in its marketing communications. As
new aspects in selecting the Brand Builder of the Year, emphasis is being given
to how well the enterprise has succeeded in systematic and sustained brand
management and how it has taken the protection perspective of its trademarks
into consideration.
”The Board of the Association gave special attention
in its selection to the fact that Tikkurila has created added value in the form
of services for consumers in its marketing communications, and has consistently
adhered to its chosen brand world,” says Ritva
Hanski-Pitkäkoski, Managing Director of the Finnish Association of
Advertisers.
Tikkurila is one of Finland’s best-known consumer brands,
and it has succeeded in generating a sense of added value for its customers. In
Tikkurila’s world, paint is not just colour to be spread over a wall, but a
central aspect of interior decorating and landscape construction. Tikkurila’s
brand building has been multidimensional, it appeals to various senses, and it
is consistent – resulting in strong mental and memory-based images. Their
marketing communications are also easy to identify. The protection of
Tikkurila’s trademarks and corresponding rights has been handled
well.
“Our thanks go absolutely to everyone working for Tikkurila,
because all have participated here with their own contribution and activities in
the building of our common brand name. All who work for Tikkurila have also been
highly committed to our selected marketing strategy and have thereby taken our
goals into account excellently in their everyday work,” states Arto
Lehtinen, Vice President, Marketing, for Tikkurila Oy.
“This
recognition gives every one of us hope that the persevering work we’ve done in
implementing our challenging marketing strategy has not been in vain. Moreover,
the positive customer feedback we get every day about the operational
effectiveness of our services gives us the courage to continue with this chosen
policy.”
