I have a new concrete floor in my garage that I would like to paint. How should I do it and with what?
We recommend waterborne Akvacoat 100 Epoxy Paint for painting the garage floor. The new concrete floor must be dry and any cement paste layers must be removed. This is how you can check floor moisture content easily: tape and seal a piece of plastic measuring 1 x 1 metre to the floor and leave it there for 24 hours. If any moisture accumulates under the plastic sheet and the concrete underneath it becomes darker than the surrounding floor, the surface is still too damp. Allow the floor to dry.

Prime the surface with Akvacoat 100 Epoxy Paint thinned with water 5 to 15%. Wait at least 16 hours before applying the top coat. The paint used for applying the top coat can be thinned with water up to a maximum of 5%. Use a brush, roller, or spatula to apply the paint.
