Tikkurila's new Retail Concept awarded in international competition

International Public Relations Association (IPRA) has published the winners of the "IPRA Golden World Awards 2013" competition. Tikkurila Oyj was given an award in the Business-to-business – In-house Category for its project "Making paint easy to sell and fun to buy!". This was the first time Tikkurila participated in this competition.

"IPRA Golden World Awards for Excellence in Public Relations" is the world's top PR awards competition featuring a wide variety of categories for agencies and communications departments. The Golden World Awards initiative, established by the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) in 1990 and now managed by the Stevie® Awards, recognizes excellence in public relations practice worldwide.

 

"With over 300 entries in 30 categories coming from the entire world, the award contest was particularly tough this year," says Christophe Ginisty, President of IPRA for 2013. "IPRA jury members not only recognise creativity but also the quality of the planning process and the rigour of the measurement phase, which must clearly highlight the performance of every PR action. Tikkurila's professional approach and the consistency of the work convinced the jury to select the campaign as a winner in its category. We as IPRA members are committed to promoting excellence in Public Relations, and this is behind every award that we give," Mr Ginisty concludes.  

 

The 2013 competition was open to local, regional, national and international public relations programs and campaigns carried out or completed in 2012/2013. Entries submitted to the Golden World Awards competition were judged by an international panel of senior practitioners in two rounds. In considering entries, the judges may grant one, several or no awards in each category.

 

New era in paint selling

 

Tikkurila continuously develops new ways of thinking and solutions that benefit both retailers and their customers. The investment into making paint easier to sell is a unique project requiring close cooperation between consultants, designers and light and shop fitting manufacturers. The skills and expertise of Tikkurila’s own employees is crucial for success on all phases.

 

The outcome is a comprehensive retail concept combining service and design, and the final results become visible after retail chains have selected the solutions that best suit their needs. The Retail Concept based on the Finnish market was first introduced in September 2012, and by March 2013, the first concept store was opened in Finland. Stores based on similar retail solutions have also been opened in Russia, and new concept stores are being planned on Tikkurila's other key markets as well.
