| DESCRIPTION | Solvent-borne brown wood oil for exterior use. | |
| PRODUCT FEATURES | Suitable for surface oil treatment and colouring hardwoods brown for outdoor use. Also suitable for thermowood, impregnated and untreated wood, as well as wood previously treated with oil. The final colour of the surface will depend on the original wood colour. Always test before application. | |

| APPLICATION DETAILS | ||
| Application conditions | The surface to be treated must be dry and relative wood moisture content less than 20 %, as damp wood will not absorb oil, which dries slowly. As impregnated wood is often damp, we recommend treatment after a 6-month drying period.
The surface to be painted, the paint and the air temperature must be at least +5°C, and relative humidity below 80% during painting and drying |

| Preparation | Untreated surfaces:
Remove all dirt, dust and loose material from the surface. Wash off mould with Homeenpoisto (Mould Removal) or Tehopesu (Super Clean) according to instructions. Surfaces previously treated with wood oil: Remove loose material from the surfaces with a scraper or wire brush. Clean and wash if necessary with Homeenpoisto (Mould Removal) or Tehopesu (Super Clean) according to instructions. If a clear film remains on the surface, remove it before treatment. Allow the surface to dry, as moist wood does not absorb oil, which dries slowly in damp conditions. |

| Treatment | Stir Valtti Furniture and Decking Oil Brown thoroughly before and during use. Apply one coat of oil by brush, spray or sponge, porous wood may need two coats. To avoid overlapping, apply two thin coats of oil in continuous strokes to cover the whole surface evenly. Wipe off excessive oil immediately. Apply the second coat as soon as the surface is dry. Oil treatment will make the wood colour darker. If you prefer a lighter shade, apply clear Valtti Wood Oil to surfaces previously treated with Valtti Furniture and Decking Oil Brown. Carry out maintenance if necessary. Surfaces continuously exposed to the weather may need to be treated annually. | |
| Cleaning of tools | White Spirit 1050 or Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner). | |
| Maintenance instructions | After application, treat the surface carefully for the first week to allow it to harden completely. After two days, gently clean the surface with a soft brush or mop if necessary.
Clean dirty surfaces with Tikkurila Huoltopesu (Maintenance Cleaner: 1 part Maintenance Cleaner to 10 parts water). Remove stains and clean very dirty surfaces with a stronger solution of Maintenance Cleaner (1:1). After washing, rinse the surfaces and allow to dry. |
