| DESCRIPTION | Semi-matt alkyd-oil based, slightly thixotropic, opaque wood finish for exterior surfaces. | |
| PRODUCT FEATURES | New, sawn or planed wood surfaces, impregnated wood and also previously oil-painted or stained wood surfaces. With Valtti Teho you can change darker stained surfaces in good condition to lighter colours. Not suitable for floors. |

| APPLICATION DETAILS | ||
| Application conditions | All surfaces to be painted must be dry, the moisture content of the wood below 20 %, the temperature of the air at least +5 °C, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 % during painting work and drying.
Finishing must be done before evening dew. The paint film must be dry, because humidity will turn the fresh surface matt. |

| Preparation | Unpainted surface
Remove all dirt, dust, wax, rust and loose wooden material. Prime bare wood always with Valtti Base at an early building stage.Treat potential rust spots with Rostex Super Metal Primer. Seal knots with Knotting Lacquer (Oksalakka) after removing resin. A priming coat of Valtti Base should be applied to all exterior wood which has not been pre-treated or vacuum impregnated with an approved wood preservative. Apply liberally on end-grain. Use recommended Tikkurila fillers for filling cracks, nail holes, blemishes, etc. Previously painted surface Remove loose paint with a scraper and brush the surface with steel brush. Wash down surfaces affected by mould with Mould Removal (Homeenpoisto) or Super Clean solution according to instructions. Prime bare wood always with Valtti Base. Note: Discoloration of paint especially noticeable within light colours may occur over knots and resinous areas present in the wood. Particular attention with regards to preparation should be given to wood such as Oak, Teak, Cedar, Douglas Fir, Mahogany and Idigbo, etc., which contain oil and water-soluble tannin which may impair the drying, hardening or adhesion of surface coatings and discolour the finished surface. |

| Painting | Reserve enough paint in one can for a uniform surface to avoid colour differences. Stir the paint thoroughly before use. Apply two coats on new surfaces and 1-2 coats on old surfaces. Treat end-grains extra carefully. Valtti Teho can be thinned with White Spirit 1050, if necessary. | |
| Cleaning of tools | Clean immediately after use with white spirit 1050 or with Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner) | |

| ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND WASTE DISPOSAL | Empty cans should be recycled or disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Liquid waste should be destroyed according to the local regulations. NOTE! Cleaning cloths or sanding dust containing the product can create fire by auto-ignition and should be stored in water before disposal, or be dried outdoors or incinerated immediately. | |
