APPLICATION DETAILS
Application conditions The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least 8ºC, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 %. To avoid colour differences do not paint under strong sun light or rain.
Preparation Unpainted surfaces:
Remove dirt, dust and salts from unpainted surfaces. Allow precast concrete to dry for a minimum of one heating period before treatment. Surfaces cast using formwork must be mechanically worked (e.g. sand-blasted) to create sufficient texture and remove the glass-like, glossy hydrated cement. Similarly, the cement paste on cast surfaces must be removed by sand-blasting, steel-brushing or high-pressure washing with the addition of sand. Treat new plaster surfaces after 6-8 weeks of curing time.

Previously painted surfaces:
Remove organic paints totally from previously painted surfaces mechanically or by using paint remover which is rinsed off by pressure washing with hot water or sand-blasting. Remove also powdery and weak concrete surfaces previously painted with lime-paint e.g. with steel wire brush or by pressure washing with hot water.
Patching Patch open cracks, holes and crevices to the same level as the surrounding concrete surface with suitable Finnseco repair mortar, and plaster surfaces with lime or lime-cement mortar. Allow patches to harden before painting.
Priming Solid and hard surfaces:
Prime solid and hard surfaces once with a mixture made of KIVITEX Silicate Primer and KIVITEX Silicate Paint (mixing ratio 1:2).

Porous and absorbent surfaces:
Prime porous and absorbent surfaces using wet-on-wet system with a mixture made of KIVITEX Silicate Primer and pure water (mixing ratio 1:1).
Cleaning of tools Clean tools with water.
EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value (Cat A/h) 30 g/l(2010)
