| APPLICATION DETAILS | ||
| Application conditions | The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least 5 oC, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 % during painting and drying of the surface. Time the painting so that the paint film has enough time to dry before the evening dew, since the condensing moisture causes dimming of the fresh paint film. | |
| Preparation | Unpainted surfaces:
Remove dirt, mould and loose material from untreated surfaces. Prime surfaces as soon as possible with Valtti Pohjuste (Base) priming oil. Protect rusting metal parts such as nail heads with Rostex Metal Primer. Remove loose resin from knots and treat them with Oksalakka Knotting Lacquer. Previously painted surfaces: Remove loose paint from previously painted surfaces with a scraper and brush the surface with a steel brush. Wash down dirty and moulded surfaces with Mould Removal 1 (Homeenpoisto) solution according to directions for use. Treat bare wooden surfaces with Valtti Pohjuste (Base) priming oil. |

| Painting | Reserve enough paint for one uniform surface, and stir into one canister to avoid possible colour differences. Stir Teho well before use. Apply by brush. For the first application, thin Teho with 10 % of Valtti Pohjuste (Base). Finish with unthinned Teho, preferably a few days after priming. The finishing paint can be thinned with White Spirit 1050, if necessary. Apply liberally and carefully on end-grain. | |
| Cleaning of tools | Clean tools with White Spirit 1050 or with Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner). | |
| Maintenance instructions | Handle the surface with care, ultimate durability and hardness is reached in approx. 4
weeks under normal circumstances. If cleansing is needed, use a soft brush, a mop or a damp cleaning cloth. After 1 month from painting a soiled surface can be cleansed with Huoltopesu (1 part of Huoltopesu to 10 parts of water). Clean stains and dirty surfaces with a mix of Huoltopesu and water (1:1). Rinse well and allow to dry. |

| ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND WASTE DISPOSAL | Empty cans should be recycled or disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Liquid waste should be destroyed according to the local regulations. Risk of self-ignition! Cleaning cloths, sanding dust and overspray containing the product can create fire by self-ignition. Waste like this should be collected and stored e.g. in water before disposal or be dried preferably outdoors. | |
