| DESCRIPTION | Waterborne, quick-drying anti-corrosion primer containing special binder. | |||||||||||||
| PRODUCT FEATURES | For zinc-coated, steel- and roughened aluminium surfaces. Also suitable for use on copper, brass and stainless steel. Can be used only as a primer under water-borne paints (e.g. Panssari Akva and Luja). | |||||||||||||

| Application conditions | The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least
+5oC, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 %. The temperature of the painted surface may not exceed +40oC, because otherwise the water in the product evaporates too quickly and porosity, weakening of adhesion, blistering etc. will occur. Plan the painting work so that evening dew does not wet the surface when it is drying. |

| Preparation | Unpainted surface:
New zinc-coated surfaces are recommended to be painted earliest one year after their installation. Clean water soluble white rust protective agent, dirt, water soluble salts, oil and grease from unpainted surfaces with Panssaripesu Roof Cleaning Agent and brush. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Remove white rust/rust by grinding or wire brushing, steel surfaces to preparation grade St2. Roughen smooth aluminium surfaces. Previously painted surface: Wash down the surface with Panssaripesu Roof Cleaning Agent and brush, rinse carefully with water and allow to dry. Remove loose paint and rust from previously treated surfaces by scraping or wire brushing (steel surfaces to St2). Grind the border of the cleaned and solid paint area to ensure the adhesion of the finish. Sand matt those areas of old paint surface that will be painted. |

| Painting | Stir the paint well before use. Apply with brush or spray. The dry film thickness of a single coat should be 60-80 µm. Pay attention to angles and folds on metal surfaces, the dry film thickness should be the same on these parts. Rostex Super Akva is applied on bare metal surfaces. Use water-borne Panssari Akva or, e.g, Luja in interior rooms as a topcoat. Avoid painting in hot sun light , because the paint dries too quickly and does not stabilize enough. | |||||||||||||
| Cleaning of tools | Clean tools with water or with Tikkurila Pensselipesu Tool Cleaner. | |||||||||||||
| Maintenance instructions | The painted surfaces must be handled with care, because the paint will achieve its final hardness and durability in approx. 2 weeks under normal conditions. Soon after the treatment the surface can be cleaned lightly with a soft brush, damp cleaning cloth or mop. At the earliest 1 month after painting, dirty surfaces can be cleaned with Tikkurila Huoltopesu (1 part Huoltopesu, 10 parts water). Clean stains and very dirty surfaces with a stronger solution of Huoltopesu (1:1). After washing rinse surfaces and allow to dry. | |||||||||||||
