APPLICATION DETAILS
Application conditions The surface to be treated must be dry and relative wood moisture content less than 20 %, as damp wood will not absorb oil, which dries slowly. As impregnated wood is often damp, we recommend treatment after a 6-month drying period.
During treatment and drying, air, surface, and product temperature must be at least +5 º C and relative air moisture less than 80%.
Preparation Untreated surfaces:
Remove all dirt, dust and loose material from the surface. Wash off mould with Homeenpoisto (Mould Removal) or Tehopesu (Super Clean) according to instructions.

Surface previously treated with translucent finishing:
Remove loose material from the surfaces with a scraper or wire brush. Clean and wash if necessary with Homeenpoisto (Mould Removal) or Tehopesu (Super Clean) according to instructions. If a clear, possibly glossy film remains on the surface, remove it with a pressure washer or sand it down carefully.
Application Stir Valtti Non-Slip oil thoroughly before and during use. To avoid overlapping, apply two thin coats of oil in continuous strokes by brush to cover the whole surface evenly.
Carry out maintenance if necessary. Surfaces continuously exposed to weathering may need to be treated annually. The product forms a thin layer on the wooden surface, in which the non-slip agent is attached. An oiled surface will always tend to wear off with age.
Cleaning of tools Wash with soap and water. We recommend removing partially hardened wood oil with Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool cleaner).
Maintenance instructions After application, the surface must be treated gently for the first week to allow it to harden completely. After two days, gently clean the surface with a soft brush or mop if necessary.
Clean dirty surfaces with Tikkurila Huoltopesu Maintenance Cleaner (1 part of Maintenance Cleaner to 10 parts water). Remove stains and clean very dirty surfaces with a stronger solution of Maintenance Cleaner (1:1). After washing, rinse the surfaces and allow to dry.
