DESCRIPTION Priming oil for use on exterior wood.
PRODUCT FEATURES

For protection and priming of timber and wooden structures before surface treatment. Suitable for sawn and planed timber, woodwork, logs, thermally treated and impregnated wood in exterior use.

 

Finishing coats are recommended to be applied as soon as possible, because colorless priming oil does not protect the wood surface from the adverse effects of sunlight.

RECOMMENDED USES All wooden structures to be treated with wood stains or paints (except surfaces to be treated with wood oils and barn-red paints)

Brush, dipping or spray.

Drying time at 23°C and 50% relative air humidity Touch-dry after approx. 1/2 hour. Recoatable after 24 hours.
Solids volume 15 %
Density approx. 0.8 kg/l, ISO 2811.
Storage Unaffected by cold storage. Poorly closed or short canisters do not endure long storing.

APPLICATION DETAILS
Application conditions The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +5°C during treatment and drying, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 %.
Preparation Remove dirt, mould and any loose material. If needed, use Mould Removal (Homeenpoisto) or Tehopesu (Super Clean) solution according to directions of use.
Protect other surfaces and plants from splashes of Valtti Primer.
Diluting Use unthinned.
Priming Treat wood surfaces with Valtti Primer in as early construction phase as possible. Apply by brush, dipping or spray. Treat end-grain carefully.
Apply the finishing coat as soon as possible. If the surface treatment is anyhow delayed, prime the surfaces again before finishing.
In spray application protect other surfaces and plants from splashes.
Cleaning of tools Clean the tools with White Spirit 1050 or Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner).

If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Avoid breathing vapor. Wear protective gloves. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Keep away from sparks and open flames. - No smoking. Avoid release to the environment. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. IF SWALLOWED: Do NOT induce vomiting. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or physician. This primer contains a biocidal product for the preservation of the surface treatment. ENVIRONMENTAL and WASTE DISPOSAL Avoid spillage into drains, water systems and soil. Recycle empty, dry cans or dispose them of in accordance with local regulations. Destroy liquid waste according to the local regulations for hazardous waste. Note! Risk of self-ignition of used cleaning rags, paper wipes etc. Contaminated materials can create fire some hours later and should be soked in water and placed in a closed metal container before disposal.
