| APPLICATION DETAILS | ||
| Application conditions | All surfaces to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +5 °C, and the relative humidity of the air below 80%. | |
| Preparation | Pre-treatment:
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, dirt, all loose material and surface contamination. Use recommended Tikkurila products for mould removal and cleaning. Use suitable Tikkurila fillers for filling cracks, nail holes, blemishes, etc. Ensure that existing glossy painted and filled surfaces are thoroughly flatted down. Ensure that all surfaces are thoroughly prepared prior to priming and painting. The surfaces should be primed before painting with Optiva Grunt or Optiva 2 in colour which is close to the colour of the finish paint. Wood should be prime with Unica Adhesion Primer and metal should be prime with Unica Metal Primer. |
|
| Painting | Stir the paint thoroughly before painting. To avoid possible colour differences make sure that enough paint from one batch is reserved for the surface to be painted. Apply 1 - 2 coats depend on the absorption of the surface of Optiva 5 with brush, roller or spray. For colours with especially weak hiding power (marked in tinting system) there can be necessity to apply additional coats. | |
| Cleaning of tools | Tools should be cleaned with water immediately after use. | |
