APPLICATION DETAILS
Application conditions All surfaces to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air and substrate at least +10ºC, and the relative humidity of the air below 80%.
Preparation Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from grease, dirt, oil, wax, all loose material and surface contamination. Wet new wood surfaces with clean water so as to expose loose wood fibres, allow to dry and sand down. Completely remove existing coatings that are in poor condition. Use suitable Tikkurila products such as cleaning agents and suitable Tikkurila wood fillers for filling cracks, nail holes, blemishes, etc. Ensure that all glossy and filled surfaces are thoroughly flatted down.
Lacquering Stir thoroughly before and during use. Apply two to three coats of Paneeli-Ässä according to the condition of the surface and required depth of colour. Always work in the direction of the grain and avoid overlapping. The final colour will depend upon the timber species, i.e. original colour and hardness. The chosen gloss level will normally be achieved after the application of two coats.
Cleaning of tools Clean with water immediately after use. Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool cleaner) is recommended to be used for cleaning hardened paint from tools.
Maintenance instructions Earliest 1 month after treatment:
Clean the surfaces with a damp sponge, cloth or soft brush and with neutral (pH 6-8) detergent. The surface must not be left wet after cleaning. Very dirty surfaces can be cleaned with a slightly alkaline (pH 8-10) detergent using e.g. a cloth, mop or sponge. Rinse the surface carefully.
Maintenance treatment Surfaces treated with Paneeli-Ässä can be maintained with Paneeli-Ässä or with a similar water-borne lacquer.
