Remove all dirt and dust from surfaces. Moisten the surface lightly with a water spray, allow to dry and sand off any protruding wood fibres. Remove the sanding dust.
Old and dirty or e.g. previously with Supi Sauna Finish treated surfaces:
Wash with Supi Saunapesu Cleaning Agent according to instructions, rinse carefully and allow to dry. Sand if necessary and remove sanding dust.
|Sauna protection||Stir SUPI Sauna Finish thoroughly before and occasionally during application. Apply one coat of tinted or untinted Supi Sauna Finish on the walls of steam room. Thin with water if necessary. You can also apply two coats of tinted Supi Sauna Finish thinned 50 % with water on the walls of steam room. This way the visible brush marks are minimized. Apply two coats of Supi Sauna Finish on the wood surfaces of washing and dressing rooms. Thin tinted Supi Sauna Finish 20 % with water for the first coat, thin clear product only if needed.
Test the product on a piece of wood to ensure that the colour of the tinted product is correct. The colour appears lighter and more translucent than in the colour card, when the product is thinned. The final colour of the surface depends on timber species and the number of treatments. Treat small surfaces in one go to avoid overlapping; treat large panel surfaces a few boards at a time to get a uniform colour.
|Surface treatment||Pre-heat the sauna before taking into use and ventilate it well.|
|Cleaning of tools||Clean tools with water. Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner) is recommended when cleaning hardened finish from the brush.|
