APPLICATION DETAILS
Application conditions The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +5 °C, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 % during painting and drying.

Please note: The temperature of the surface may not exceed +40 °C, otherwise the solvent will evaporate too quickly. This may cause e.g. porosity, bubbling and weakened adhesion. Plan the painting so that the paint film has enough time to dry before the evening dew.
Preparation Unpainted surfaces:
New zinc-coated sheet metal surfaces are recommended to be painted at the earliest on the following year. Remove first possible white rusty/rusty parts with a scraper and steel brush (to St2 degree). Remove water soluble white rust protective agent, dirt, water soluble salts, greases and oils from the surface with Panssaripesu Roof Cleaning Agent. Rinse carefully with water and allow to dry well. Roughen the aluminium surfaces before painting.Prime the entire surface with Rostex Super Metal Primer. Finish with 1 to 2 coats of Panssarimaali depending on the coverage. Single coat is normally sufficient, if the dry film thickness is 40-60 µm. Rostex Super can be painted with Panssarimaali after couple of hours (see the data sheet of Rostex Super). Painting should be done in a week after priming.

Previously painted surfaces:
Remove loose paint and possible rust with a scraper and steel brush (to St2 degree). Clean the surface with Panssaripesu Roof Cleaning Agent using stiff brush, rinse carefully with water and allow to dry. Prime bare metal areas with Rostex Super Metal Primer. Finish with 1 to 2 coats of Panssarimaali.
Painting Stir Panssarimaali carefully before use and thin with White Spirit 1050 (0-5%), if necessary. Apply Panssarimaali by brush, roller or spray. After spraying/rolling finish with a brush. The recommended dry-film thickness for a single coat is 40-60 µm (micrometer). Reserve enough paint for one uniform surface, and stir into one canister to avoid possible colour differences. Note! Do not use the colour made from C-base side by side with a ready-mixed shade.

The slipperiness of the surface can be reduced by adding Non-slip (anti-skid material) powder into the paint (150 g/10 ltr). Apply two coats of paint when using Non-slip, so that the second coat includes the anti-skid material.
Cleaning of tools Clean tools with White Spirit 1050 or with Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool cleaner)
Maintenance instructions Handle the surface with care, ultimate durability and hardness is reached in approx. a moth under normal circumstances. If cleansing is needed, use a soft brush, a mop or a damp cleaning cloth.
After 1 month the surface can be cleansed with Huoltopesu (mixing ratio: 1 part of Huoltopesu to 10 parts of water).
Clean soiled surfaces and stains with Huoltopesu (1:1). Rinse the surface carefully after maintenance and let it get dry.
EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value (cat A/i) 500g/l(2010) Panssarimaali contains VOC max. 500g/l.
