| Application conditions | The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +5 oC, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 %. | |
| Preparation | New clean wood surfaces:
Remove dirt and dust. Moisten lightly with water spray, let dry and sand loose wood fiber off. Remove sanding dust. Old dirty and previously with e.g. Supi Sauna Finish treated wood surfaces: Wash down with Supi Saunapesu Cleaning Agent according to instructions, rinse thoroughly and let dry. Sand and dust off. |
|
| Waxing | Stir Supi Arctic properly, from time to time also during usage.
Treat steam room walls once with tinted Supi Arctic. Thin with water if necessary. You can also treat the steam room walls twice, thinned with water up to 50 %. This way the brush marks will be less noticeable. Treat washing and dressing room surfaces first with Supi Arctic thinned with 20 % of water, then with unthinned product. Make a test application in a inconspicuous spot to ensure that the colour is correct. When the product is thinned the colour becomes a little lighter and more transparent than in the colour card. The properties of the wood and previous treatments incluence the final colour. Treat entire small surfaces without interruptions and large panel surfaces 1-2 panels at a time in order to achieve a uniform colour. You get a matching colour to benches - without the pearl effect - by tinting Supi Sauna wax according to the Valtti Arctic colour card. Pre-heat and ventilate the sauna thoroughly before use. |
|
| Cleaning of tools | Clean the tools with soap and water. Tikkurila Tool Cleaner is recommended for removal of hardened sauna finish. | |
| Maintenance instructions | Cleaning earliest about 1 month after applicaton, if necessary:
Clean the surface with Supi Saunapesu Cleaning Agent (1-2 dl of cleaning agent into 5 litres of water). |
