APPLICATION DETAILS
Application conditions The surface to be treated must be dry and the temperature of the air must be at least
5 °C and the relative humidity of the air below 80 % during the treatment and drying. Because newly impregnated wood is often too moist for surface treatment, it is recommended to be treated earliest after approximately six months.
Preparation Remove dirt, dust and other loose material from the surface. Wash down old darkened wood surfaces with Mould Removal (Homeenpoisto) or Tehopesu (Power Wash) solution according to directions for use.

Surfaces previously treated with a transparent product:
Remove all loose material with a scraper and/or with a wire brush. Clean the surface and wash it with Mould Removal or with Super Clean. If clearly a film remains on the surface, especially a glossy one, then remove it or sand it carefully.
Application Pre-treat clean wood surfaces with VALTTI BASE. Stir VALTTI EXTERIOR WAX thoroughly before use and from time to time during application.
Apply VALTTI EXTERIOR WAX by brush or sponge once on decking and twice on other surfaces. Apply evenly along the whole length of a board or a panel, to avoid overlapping. Each treatment will make the wood surface darker.
Maintenance treatment when needed. Surfaces exposed to continuous weathering might need to be treated every year.
Cleaning of tools Clean tools with water or Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner).
Maintenance instructions Handle the surface with care, ultimate durability and hardness is reached in approx. 1 week under normal circumstances. After approx. 2 days from treatment the surface can be cleansed with a soft brush, a mop or a damp cleaning cloth.
Soiled surfaces can be cleansed with Huoltopesu (1 part of Huoltopesu to 10 parts of water). Clean stains and dirty surfaces with a mix of Huoltopesu and water (1:1). Rinse well and allow to dry.
