| APPLICATION DETAILS | ||
| Application conditions | The surface, the mortar and the temperature of the air has to be at least +5˚ C. Avoid working in hot weather, direct sunshine or very windy weather. Start after-treatment immediately after the surface has dried, especially in dry circumstances. | |
| Preparation | Socle surface: Remove any loose particles, dirt and efflorescence from the surface. Smooth any roughness mechanically. Yki Socle and Reparation Mortar can also be used to patch any holes in socle blocks using a minimum of water to mix.
Concrete surface: Make sure the surface is fully dry and cured before treatment. Use a sand blaster, wire brush or grindstone to roughen moulded concrete mechanically to achieve a sufficient surface profile and to remove cement stone in the surface. Previously painted surfaces: Yki Socle and Reparation Mortar is not suitable for treating previously painted surfaces. Remove all paint coats. Open possible cracks in concrete constructions by pick-dressing, or with an edge grinder and bobbing. Clean rust from the reinforcement bars and continue the treatment using a suitable Finnseco repair mortar Applicable national health and safety precautions must be followed in pre-treatment and coating of substrates containing asbestos. |

| Application | Thoroughly soak the area to be treated in clean water the previous day and again 1-2 hours before starting work. Coating can begin once the surface no longer shines.
Make up as much Yki Socle and Reparation Mortar as you can apply in an hour. Add clean water to the mortar powder (4,5-5,5l water/ 25g mortar) and mix by machine to a consistent mix. Leave to stand for about 10 min before beginning work. Add at most 1 litre of water per sack if required. Apply an approx. 2-5 mm thick coating of Yki Socle and Reparation Mortar and with long, gentle strokes, use the straight edge of the steel float to smooth the surface. If desired, you can use a wet, sponge rubber float to lightly rub the surface after about 20-40 minutes, when the surface no longer sticks to the float. |

| Curing | Spray the surface with clean water in the morning and evening or cover for 24-48 hours with plastic to moisten it, depending on working conditions. | |
| Surface treatment | Continue after-treatment (moistening) 2-4 days depending on the thickness of the layers. Yki Socle Paint or Yki Rough Coating can be applied after 2 weeks from spreading mortar, following the instructions. | |
| Cleaning of tools | Clean tools with water. | |
| Maintenance instructions | Ultimate durability and hardness is reached in approx. a moth under normal circumstances. If cleansing is needed, use lightly a pressure cleaner without detergent.
Clean dry, loose dirt softly with a brush without rubbing the surface. To remove mould or algae apply Tikkurila Mould Removal and rinse well. |
