Temafloor 4000

Coatings
DESCRIPTION Solvent free TEMAFLOOR 4000 grinding screed is prepared by adding sand to TEMAFLOOR 400 epoxy varnish mixture.
PRODUCT FEATURES For new and old concrete floors exposed to heavy mechanical and moderate chemical stress in production facilities, e.g. in wood, chemical and food industries.
RECOMMENDED USES Due to good impact resistance suitable for e.g. loading platforms, repair shops and market floors. Recommended also for floors subjected to steam and heat; e.g. in institutional kitchens and dairies.

TECHNICAL DATA
Features Withstands heavy wear. Resistance to chemicals is given case by case. Withstands + 110 ºC dry heat and + 60 ºC in immersion. Non-slip.Fire classification: BFL-s1 according to EN 13501-1.
Colour Range The colour of the screed is determined by the sand used.
Gloss groups Full-gloss
Coverage

For a flat substrate:

1 mm layer: 1 litre ready for use screed / m2

5 mm layer: 5 litres ready for use screed / m2

Practical coverage depends on the evenness of the substrate.
Mixing ratio TEMAFLOOR 400 mixture:
Base 3 parts by volume 008 4403
Hardener 1 part by volume 008 4404

Screed film thickness 2 - 10 mm:
1 part by volume TEMAFLOOR 400 mixture
6 - 8 parts by volume of filler sand, e.g. grain size of 1.0 - 1.8 mm

Note! The amount of the filler and the grain size depends on the object.
Application method By adjustable trowel, serrated trowel, float, levelling trowel and screed box.
Pot-life (+23°C) 30 - 45 minutes on substrate, 15 - 30 minutes in the mixing container.
Drying time at 23°C and 50% relative air humidity

Dust dry after 6 hours

Light trucking afte 24 hours

Recoatable 16 - 24 hours

Fully cured 7 vrk:n kuluttua

At lower temperature the curing process will last longer.
Solids volume approx. 100 volume %
Density 1.8 - 2.1 kg / l (mixture), depending on the grain size and the amount of sand.
Product code 008 4403

APPLICATION DETAILS
Application conditions The relative humidity of the concrete should not exceed 97 %. The temperature of the ambient air, surface or coating should not fall below + 15 ºC during either application or drying. Relative humidity of air should not exceed 80 %.
Preparation New concrete: Remove laitance by power grinding, vacuum grit blasting or hydrochloric acid etching. Choose the method best suited for the premises. After grinding remove dust carefully with a vacuum cleaner. Hydrochloric acid etching is carried out with diluted hydrochloric acid (1 part concentrated hydrochloric acid, 4 parts water). Rinse with plenty of water. Dry the floor.

Old concrete: Remove all grease, oil, chemicals and other impurities by MAALIPESU detergent. Remove old peeling paint layer by grinding, milling or vacuum grit blasting. Choose the method best suited for the premises. Clean out pot-holes removing all loose friable material. Open cracks with e.g. an abrasive tool. Remove loose material and dust.
Priming Prime using 10 - 30 % with Thinner 1029 thinned TEMAFLOOR 400 epoxy varnish. Pour the varnish mixture onto the floor and apply as much as is needed to impregnate the concrete surface. If necessary, repeat priming to get a non-porous surface. Subsequent treatment can be carried out after 2 hours using "wet-on-wet" technique.
Scatter sand of grain size 0.5 - 1.2 mm on the fresh primer coat to ensure the screed adhesion and prohibit gliding of the screed.
Diluting Do not thin TEMAFLOOR 4000 grinding screed.
Screeding Pour the screed mixture onto the floor. If a thin layer is required, apply by an adjustable trowel to the desired screed thickness. Thick layers are applied by a screed box or by a straight-edge and suitable laths to gauge the required thickness. Knead the screeded surface by hands or use a suitable lightweight floating machine.
Overcoating Overcoating can be carried out after 16 - 24 hours using unthinned TEMAFLOOR 400 epoxy varnish. If the surface is not overcoated within 24 hrs, it should be abraded. Pour the varnish mixture onto the floor, spread with a rubber trowel and level with a roller.
Mixing of components Mix the correct proportions of base and hardener thoroughly (approx. 2 minutes) by using a hand drill with a paddle, concrete mixer or power mixer. Add filler to the varnish mixture by mixing carefully at the same time. Insufficient mixing or incorrect mixing ratio will result in uneven drying of the surface, weaken the properties of the screed and risk the success of the application.
Cleaning of tools Thinner 1029.
EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value VOC 2004/42/EC (cat A/j) 550 g/l (2007), 500 g/l (2010)
