Changes in the Safety Data Sheets
The European Union has adopted a new regulation concerning Safety Data Sheets ((EU) No 453/2010), which brings changes to the format of the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) of our products.
Tikkurila has started to update the SDSs according to the new format. All SDSs should be updated by December 1st, 2012. The old SDSs are valid during the transition period and can be used until the deadline date.
Biggest changes in the SDS's will be:
- The warning label information will move from section 15 to section 2. Section 15 will contain other regulatory information, not the labelling information anymore.
- Some sections will look different, e.g. section 14 (transport information): the transport classes will be listed only once, they will not be listed separately for different transport modes (road, sea, air) anymore.
- All the 16 headings will remain the same as before, but there will be some new sub-headings in the SDS.
The customer can easiest recognize if the SDS is updated according to the new format by looking at the sub-heading 16.8: the relevant REACH-regulation numbers are provided there.
The SDSs on Tikkurila Industry basic product portfolio are available here on Tikkurila.com:
Metal products - Wood products - Floor products
