| APPLICATION DETAILS | ||
| Application conditions | The surface to be treated must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +5 ºC, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 %. | |
| Preparation | New untreated surfaces:
Clean dirt and dust from untreated surfaces. Fill knot spots and unevenness with Spakkeli wood putty pine. Sand the filled spots and remove sanding dust. Previously treated surfaces: Wash down previously treated surfaces with Cleaning Agent (Maalipesu) and rinse carefully with water. Remove loose or flaking paint with a scraper. Sand the whole surface and remove sanding dust. |
|
| Lacquering | Stir JALO thoroughly up to the bottom before use and also from time to time during the use.
Thin Jalo for priming with 10 % White Spirit 1050. Sand the dried surface lightly after the priming and remove sanding dust. Finish with unthinned lacquer. A beautiful glazing colour is achieved by treating the bare wooden surface with Parquet-Ace Stain, Unica Super or Panel-Ace before applying Jalo. Do not thin tinted Parquet-Ace Stain. To attain smooth colour, thin Unica Super and Panel-Ace with 20%. Thin Unica Super with White Spirit 1050 and Panel-Ace with Water. Note! For porous wooden surfaces (especially for stained end surfaces) it is recommended to apply a test coat. If the lacquer surface turns to grey, prime the wooden surface first with a glossy lacquer e.g. Unica Super. Finish then with Jalo matt lacquer. |
|
| Cleaning of tools | Clean tools with White Spirit 1050. | |
| Maintenance instructions | Jalo Matt Lacquer reaches its final durability in approx. 1 month. Avoid cleansing during that time.
