Pinja Top - Topcoat that shows natural structure of wood
Pinja TopA water-borne acrylate semi-transparent exterior paint.
Flexible film with superior weather resistance
Pinja Top has been developed to withstand the severe conditions of Finnish climate. It forms a flexible film, which lives with the seasons. The water-resistant topcoat however allows the wood to breathe.
Pinja Top is a semi-transparent acrylate paint. Suitable for both wooden logs and claddings it shows natural structure of the wood.
Pinja Top is widely used for:

PRODUCT DATA SHEET
Pinja Top - Water-borne acrylate paint
|DESCRIPTION||A water-borne acrylate semi-opaque exterior paint.|
Suitable for exterior wooden panels and claddings.
|Features||Semi opaque paint maintains natural surface structure of wood.
Contains alkyd for improved adhesion to bare wood.
Protects the surface against moisture, sunlight and dirt.
|Colour Cards||The shades of Tikkurila colour card for Wooden Facades.|
Practical coverage depends on the application method, painting conditions and the shape and roughness of the surface to be coated.
Airless, air assisted airless and conventional spraying.
Application (+23 °C)
For airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–10%. Recommended nozzle tip is 0.013"–0.015" and pressure 140–180 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.
For air–assisted airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–10%. Recommended nozzle tip is 0.013"–0.015" and pressure 40–140 bar. Atomising air pressure should be about 1–3 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.
For conventional spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–10%. Recommended nozzle tip is 1.6–2.0 mm and pressure 2–3 bar.
Wood contains resin and other colouring extractives especially in knots. Temperature and humidity fluctuations may cause paint coat discolouration in these areas.
Note! Dark shades made from VC-base will dry slower.
Drying and recoating times are related to the film thickness, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation.
|Solids volume||35% by volume, 47% by weight (VVA base)
33% by volume, 38% by weight (VC base)
|Density||1.2 kg/litre (VVA base), 1.1 kg/litre (VC base)|
|Product code||247 serie, VVA base 247 6302, VC base 247 6303|
|Application conditions||The surface to be treated has to be clean and dry. The moisture content of wood has to be below 20%. During application and drying temperature of the air, substrate and paint temperature must be over +10°C and relative humidity of the air below 70%. Good ventilation is also very important.|
|Preparation||Surfaces must be free of dirt, dust and mould.|
Pinja Pro Primer, Pinja Universal Primer and Pinja Top.
|Mixing of components||Stir the paint carefully before use. Avoid flotation. Thin with water if necessary.|
