Fast-drying tintable oil

Pinja W-Oil is a fast-drying water-borne oil, that can be tinted in many colors with Akvi Tone tinting system.

Soft feel oil for wood

Pinja W-Oil penetrates in the wood and forms sof finish, which protects the surface against moisture, sunlight, dirt and thus decreasing cracking of wood surface.

DESCRIPTION A water-borne tintable semi-transparent wood stain.
PRODUCT FEATURES

Suitable for exterior panels, boards and log cabins in humid premises outdoors.

Recommended uses Protects the surface against moisture, sunlight and dirt. Delay water penetration into wood and therefore decreases cracking of wood surfaces.

Practical coverage depends on the application method, painting conditions and the shape and roughness of the surface to be coated.

Thinner Water
Application method For airless spraying the recommended nozzle tip is 0.009"–0.011" and pressure 80–160 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.

For air–assisted airless spraying the recommended nozzle tip is 0.009"–0.011"  and  pressure 40–120 bar. Atomising air pressure should be about 1–3  bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.

For conventional spraying the recommended nozzle tip is 1.0–1.4 mm and  pressure 1.5–3.0 bar.

Drying and recoating times are related to the film thickness, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation.

APPLICATION DETAILS
Application conditions The surface to be treated must be clean and dry. During application and drying the temperature of the air, the surface to be treated and the oil has to be over +18ºC and the relative humidity of the air below 80%.

Note that Pinja W-Oil is not suitable for wooden surfaces treated previously with solvent borne wood oil.
Treatment Stir the oil carefully and thin with water if necessary. To get a more even result the surface can be polished.
Surface treatment Untreated surfaces:
Clean surface from dirt, dust and loose material. Wash mouldy surfaces with Tikkurila Mould Removal or Tehopesu Super Clean according to the instructions.

Mixing of components Stir the oil carefully and thin with water if necessary. To get a more even result the surface can be polished.
Cleaning of tools Water.
EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value The Volatile Organic Compounds amount is 38 g/litre of oil.
