APPLICATION DETAILS
Application conditions The surface to be treated has to be clean and dry. During application and drying the temperature of the air, the surface to be treated and the lacquer has to be over +18ºC and the relative humidity of the air below 70%.
Preparation Wood surfaces should be sanded with sandpaper P150–240. Primer surfaces should be sanded with sandpaper P240–600. All sanding dust must be removed before lacquering.
Priming Merit Sanding and Merit Topas 50.
Lacquering For airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 5–20% to the viscosity
20–30s (DIN4). Recommended nozzle tip is 0.009"–0.013" and pressure 100–160 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.

For air-assisted airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 5–20% to the viscosity 20–30s (DIN4). Recommended nozzle tip is 0.009"–0.013" and pressure
40–120 bar. Atomising air pressure should be about 1–3 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.

For conventional spraying, the product is thinned approximately 5–20% to the viscosity 20–30 (DIN4). Recommended nozzle tip is 1.0–1.8 mm and pressure 2–3 bar.
Mixing of components Stir the lacquer carefully before use. Add 10 volume % of Hardener 006 2098. Thin the lacquer to the viscosity required with Thinner 1035.

Do not use iron containers as mixing container. Instead use plastic, enamel or acid resistant steel containers.
In case the lacquer mixture is used on the next day, add at least an equal amount of fresh lacquer mixture.
Cleaning of tools Thinner 1035 or 1058.
EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value The Volatile Organic Compounds amount is 550 g/l of lacquer.
Maximum VOC content in ready to use lacquer (thinned 20 % by volume) is 590 g/l.
