The downward seeping and running of pigment and filler from excessively eroding paint onto other areas below, for example brick walls.
- Use of a highly chalky paint. Chalk residue may spread downwards with water on to the area below, where it is then absorbed.

Apply a suitable Tikkurila exterior paint. Acrylate paints are less chalky than oil paints.
