ClimateCooler Catalyst

DESCRIPTION Self-cleaning, flexible, heat reflecting water-borne modified acrylate paint with photocatalytic effect. Breaks down harmful NOx compounds into harmless NO3⁻ compounds (salts).

For painting of new and old roofs.

RECOMMENDED USES Bitumen, concrete tile, fiber-cement sheet and primed steel sheet roofs.

Application method Brush, roller or spray (airless). High pressure spray nozzle 0,019" - 0,021" (nominal angle 40°- 50°).
Drying time at 23°C and 50% relative air humidity Withstands rain and dew 1-2 hours after application. Drying will be slower with higher relative humidity of the air and at lower temperatures. A second coat can be applied earliest 3-4 hours after the first coat.
Weather resistance Good also in industrial and marine climate.
Solids volume approx.42 %.
Density approx. 1.4 kg/l, ISO 2811.
Storage Protect from frost.

Application conditions The surface to be painted must be solid and dry, air temperature at least +8C and relative humidity of the air below 80 %. Schedule the painting work so that paint film will be dry before the evening dew. Do not paint under the risk of rain.
Preparation Clean the surfaces from dirt, dust, moss and lichen. Use high pressure washer, avoiding damaging the substrate and structures.
Applicable national health and safety precautions must be followed in the treatment of substrates containing asbestos.
Priming Use ClimateCooler Uni Primer on top of concrete roof tiles, fiber cement sheets or primed steel sheet.
Use ClimateCooler Flex Primer on top of bitumen or fiber cement sheets.
Finishing Mix the paint carefully before use.

Apply one or two coats of ClimateCooler Catalyst, total wet film thickness 200-225 µm.

Note! Check the condition of the roof before starting the work.
The product contains film protecting agents, therefore rainwater flowing from the roof is not recommended to be used for watering plants or washing during the first year from painting.
Cleaning of tools Clean tools with water. Slightly hardened tools can be cleaned with Pensselipesu Tool Cleaner.
Maintenance instructions Handle the painted surface with care. The surface achieves its final hardness and durability within approx. 4 weeks.
Earliest after 1 month of application the surface can be cleaned with ClimateCooler Cleaner (mixing ratio 1 part of cleaner in 50 parts of water).
Maintenance treatment Surfaces painted with ClimateCooler Catalyst should be maintenance painted with the same system.

Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Contains reaction mass of: 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one [EC no. 247-500-7] and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one [EC no. 220-239-6] (3:1) and 2-octyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one. ENVIRONMENTAL and WASTE DISPOSAL Avoid spillage into drains, water systems and soil. Recycle empty, dry cans or dispose them of in accordance with local regulations. Destroy liquid waste according to the local regulations for hazardous waste.
