Previously lacquered surface:
Wash down previously lacquered surface with Maalipesu Cleaning Agent and rinse carefully with water. Completely remove existing coatings that are in poor condition using a paint removal solution or by sanding. Treat as a new wood surface.
|Lacquering||Stir thoroughly before and during use. Thin with water, if necessary. Apply two coats in the direction of wood grain. If you use a tinted product, make a trial application on a separate piece of wood to be sure of the right colour. The final colour will depend upon the timber species, i.e. original colour and hardness as well as number of coats applied. Thin the tinted lacquer with 20-30 % of water for the first coat. The chosen colour and gloss level will normally be achieved after the application of two coats. Always treat the surfaces without a break and large panel surfaces few panels at a time to achieve a uniform colour.|
