Drying time at 23°C and 50% relative air humidity
Dust dry in approx. 15 min. Recoatable in approx. 2 h. Ready for light mechanical stress the next day. Full hardness and abrasion properties will be obtained in approx. 2 weeks. Low air temperature and high humidity will increase the opening time of the paint. Avoid laying heavy articles and things which prevent drying – such as carpets – on the floor during the first week.
Resists well grease and e.g. White Spirit. Does not resist strong solvents like e.g. paint thinner.

Protect from frost.
The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +10°C, and the relative humidity of the air below 80%.
Remove all dirt, oil, dust and grease.
Previously painted surfaces:
Wash down previously painted surfaces with Maalipesu (Cleaning Agent), rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Remove old, flaking paint. Sand the surfaces carefully and remove sanding dust.
Stir the paint thoroughly before use.
Bare wood surfaces: Apply 1-2 coats of Multistop Isolation Primer on bare wood surfaces. The best insulation result is achieved when the treatment is performed twice. Finish with 1-2 coats of undiluted Pontti Puulattiamaali.
Previously painted or lacquered surfaces: Apply Pontti Puulattiamaali directly on the surface 1-2 times with a synthetic brush.
NB. Paint will dry quickly, so plan your work beforehand to avoid paint joints. Apply lengthwise to few planks at a time, and make repairs when the paint has dried.
To increase grip on stair steps Non-Slip Agent can be added to Pontti Puulattiamaali in the ratio of 0.33 l powder to 10 litres of undiluted paint. Mixing by hand is sufficient. Apply two final topcoats of “non-slip” paint for stair step edges. Limit the area to be painted with masking tape.
Cleaning of tools
Remove excess paint from tools. Clean tools with water. Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner) is recommended to be used to remove a bit hardened paint.
The painted surface will dry completely and reach its final durability and chemical resistance in approx. 2 weeks. Avoid cleaning during this period. Clean the surface with a brush, mop or duster, removing dirt with a neutral (pH 6-8) detergent.
