Oil-containing colorless, easily absorbed wood preservative for exterior wood surfaces, for consumers and professionals. Penetrates into the wood and retards moisture absorption as well as the spread of mold growth and blue stain.
This wood preservative (product type group 8) has been approved under the rules of the Biocidal Products Regulation Directive BPR (EU) No 528/2012. Authorisation number UK-2014-0831/FI-2015-0014.
For protection and
priming of timber and wooden structures before surface treatment. Suitable for
logs, sawn and planed timber, thermally treated and impregnated wood in
exterior use. Use the product only as a wood preservative according to the
product data sheet and package label instructions. Finishing coats are
recommended to be applied as soon as possible, because colorless wood
preservative does not protect the wood surface from the adverse effects of
All wooden structures to be treated with wood stains or paints (except surfaces to be treated with wood oils or barn-red paints) and exterior woodwork. Can be used on wood components above grounds, which are either exposed to weathering or protected from the weather, but subject to continuous wetting. Not for use on wood in direct soil or water contact or in marine environment. May not be used on interior surfaces.

Shelf life in normal conditions is two years. Storage temperature should be 0-30°C. Store the product only in original package, tightly closed in a safe place and out of reach of children.
The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of the air at least +5°C during treatment and drying, and the relative humidity of the air below 80 %.
Remove dirt, mould and any loose material. If needed, wash down surfaces with Tikkurila Mould Removal (Homeenpoisto) or Tehopesu (Super Clean) solution according to directions of use. Protect other surfaces and plants from splashes of Valtti Pohjuste. Cover all water containers before treatment.
To be used unthinned.
Treat wood surfaces with Valtti Pohjuste in as early construction phase as possible. Apply liberally with a brush. Treat end-grain carefully.
Do not use the product near food utensils, cutlery and such surfaces on which food is handled. Wash hands and exposed skin before meals and after using the product.
Unprotected persons and animals must be kept away from the treated areas for 48 hours or until the surfaces are dry.
During the application and drying do not let the product to get into the soil and surface waters. Protect the plants and fish ponds before treatment.
Apply the finishing coat as soon as possible, however after 24 hours at the earliest. If the surface treatment is anyhow delayed over the winter, prime the surfaces again.
Cleaning of tools
Clean the tools with White Spirit 1050 or Tikkurila Pensselipesu (Tool Cleaner).

Contains 3-iodo-2-propynyl butylcarbamate. May produce an allergic reaction. Wear protective gloves.
3-lodo-2-propynyl-n-butyl carbamate is a carbamate compound which has weak anticholinesterase activity. Do not use if under medical advice not to work with anticholinesterase compounds.

ENVIRONMENTAL and WASTE DISPOSAL
Avoid spillage into drains, water systems and soil. Recycle empty, dry cans or dispose them of in accordance with local regulations. Destroy liquid waste according to the local regulations for hazardous waste.
Note! Risk of self-ignition of used cleaning rags, paper wipes etc. Contaminated materials can create fire some hours later and should be soked in water and placed in a closed metal container before disposal.
skin contact: wash skin thoroughly with soap and water or use recognised skin
cleanser. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention if
contact with eyes: immediately flush eyes with plenty of water, occasionally
lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Continue to rinse for at least 10 minutes.
Get medical advice if symptoms occur.
swallowed: if material has been swallowed and the exposed person is conscious,
give small quantities of water to drink. Stop if the exposed person feels sick
as vomiting may be dangerous. Do not induce vomiting. If vomiting occurs, the
head should be kept low so that vomit does not enter the lungs. Get medical
attention. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If
unconscious, place in recovery position and get medical attention immediately. Maintain
an open airway. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband.
inhalation: move the exposed person into fresh air. Keep person warm and at
rest. Provide artificial respiration by a trained person if breathing is
irregular or arrested. It may be dangerous to the person providing aid by
mouth-tomouth resuscitation. Seek medical advice if symptoms are severe or long
lasting. If unconscious, place in recovery position and get medical attention
