Application conditions
The surface to be painted must be dry, the temperature of air at least +5˚ C and the relative humidity of air below 80 %. The coating work may not be done in strong sunlight.
The substrate must be solid, dry and hard enough before finishing.

Unpainted surfaces:
Unpainted surfaces are cleaned from dirt, dust and salts. Wash down moulded or moss-covered surfaces with Homeenpoisto Mould Removal according to the instructions. Smooth and glass-like concrete surfaces must be treated mechanically in order to create sufficient texture and to remove the cement paste.

Previously painted surfaces:
Clean surfaces from dirt, dust and salts. Wash down moulded or moss-covered surfaces with Homeenpoisto Mould Removal according to the instructions. Flaking and poorly adherent paint layers are removed (e.g. mechanically or by pressure washing).

Applicable national health and safety precautions must be followed in the pre-treatment and coating of substrates containing asbestos. (In Finland: Council of State statute 1380/1994 and associated decrees 318/2006 and 863/2010).
Cracks, holes and damaged areas (over 10 mm of depth) are patched with a suitable cement-based repair mortar.
Stir Yki Colour Render before use.

Application by steel trowel
Apply one or two coats. The first application is done to level the substrate and to fill joints etc. The second application can be done earliest the next day by applying an even, 2-5 mm thick layer. Smooth, e.g. concrete surfaces can be finished with one application. Smooth the surface with a steel trowel by pulling lightly.

Application by spraying e.g. with a plaster pump or a funnel sprayer
Apply by spraying from approx. 1 m distance in a circular motion upright with the surface. Smooth the coating by sloping the trowel lightly over the surface. Spray the second layer over the dried coating, if needed and smooth the surface with a steel trowel.

Levelled socle is recommended to be treated with Yki finishing product, i.e. Yki Socle paint, Yki Rough coating or Yki Real Stone. Paint or coating can be applied at the earliest after 7 days.
Surface treatment
Surfaces treated earlier with Yki Colour Render may not be treated with cement-based products.
Protect windows before applying the render. Clean possible splashes immediately from the windows.
Yki Colour Render is not suitable for levelling e.g. cold retaining walls or other similar horizontal surfaces.
Cleaning of tools
Clean tools immediately with water. Tikkurila Pensselipesu is recommended for the removal of hardened render.
Maintenance instructions
Dirty surface can be pressure cleaned cautiously without detergent after one month from treatment at the earliest. Cleaning might leave an imprint, thus the washing area must be lined unnoticeably according to the lines of the structure. Loose dry dirt is recommended to be removed lightly with a soft brush without rubbing.
Homeenpoisto Mould Removal and thorough rinsing can be used for the removal of alga and mould according to the instructions. NOTE! After mould removal the surface always requires a new treatment.
Maintenance treatment
Possible patches and repairs are done with Yki Colour Render.
