Easy to apply

The application properties of Akvi Top DS 25 are very good. The paint has high solid content and good filling properties. It levels smoothly onto surface.

Akvi Top DS 25 is a fast-drying topcoat for demanding environment. The paint forms a hard paint film with a possibility to have wide variety of colors for doors, panels, frames and moldings.

Akvi Top DS 25 can be stacked rapidly and  is therefore an excellent choice for topcoating of fire retardant paint. Akvi Top DS 25 has been approved as a topcoat in interior fire retardant system.

Forms a hard paint film with possibility to have wide variety of colors.

Can be stacked rapidly and is therefore an excellent choice for topcoating of fire retardant paint. Akvi Top DS 25 has been approved as a topcoat in interior fire retardant painting system.


Recommended uses Suitable for panels, doors, mouldings and other wooden/fibre board surfaces.

Drying and recoating times are related to the film thickness, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation.

APPLICATION DETAILS
Application conditions The surface to be treated has to be clean and dry. The moisture content of wood has to be below 20%. During application and drying temperature of the air, substrate and paint must be over +18°C and relative humidity of the air below 70%. Good ventilation is required to ensure optimal result. Product can be dried with or without oven.
Preparation Remove dust, loose particles and other impurities from the surface. Wood surfaces must be sanded with sandpaper P150–320. Sanding prior to the next application with sandpaper P240–400. All sanding dust must be removed.
Priming Akvi Primer Pro, Akvi Primer, Diccoplast Primer and Dicco Surf Primer.
Application Stir the product carefully.

For airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–5%. Recommended nozzle tip is 0.011"–0.015" and pressure 120–160 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.

For air–assisted airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–5%. Recommended nozzle tip is 0.011"–0.015" and pressure 40–120 bar. Atomising air pressure should be about 1–3 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.

For conventional spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–5%. Recommended nozzle tip is 1.6–2.2 mm and pressure 2–3 bar.
Cleaning of tools Water.
EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value The Volatile Organic Compounds amount is 20 g/litre of paint mixture.
VOC content of the paint mixture (thinned 5% by volume) is 19 g/l.
