Akvi Top FD 30 is a water-borne topcoat with low VOC content. The paint has M1 Building material emission classification for indoor use, and emits extremely low levels of compounds into the atmosphere.

Fast-drying topcoat with good stackability and chemical resistance

Akvi Top FD 30 is a fast-drying product. The paint is used a lot for rapid production lines with requirements for good stackability. Paint has suitable chemical resistance for home use.

Thinner Water
Application method

Application (+ 23 °C)

Airless spraying, air-assisted airless spraying and conventional spraying.


For airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–5%. Recommended nozzle tip is 0.011"–0.015" and pressure 120–160 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.


For air–assisted airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–5%. Recommended nozzle tip is 0.011"–0.015"  and  pressure 40–120 bar. Atomising air pressure should be about 1–3 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.


For conventional spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–5% . Recommended nozzle tip is 1.6–2.2mm and  pressure 2–3 bar.

 Drying and recoating times are related to film thickness, temperature, relative humidity of the air and ventilation.

Application conditions Substrate must be clean and dry before painting. During application and drying air temperature, substrate and paint must be over +18ºC and relative humidity of the air must be below 70%.
Preparation Wood surfaces should be sanded with sandpaper P150–240. Primed surfaces should be sanded with sandpaper P240–600. All sanding dust must be removed
Priming Recommended primers:
Akvi Primer MDF, Diccoplast Primer and Dicco Surf Primer.
Mixing of components Stir the paint carefully before use. Thin with water if necessary.
Cleaning of tools Water.
EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value The Volatile Organic Compounds amount is 14.3 g/litre of paint mixture.
VOC content of the paint mixture (thinned 5% by volume) is 13.5 g/l.
