Diccoplast Primer

A two-component acid-catalyzed primer for interior surfaces.

The paint is solvent-borne
The coverage of the paint on rough surfaces
The coverage of the paint on smooth surfaces

Excellent filling properties

Diccoplast Primer is a traditional two-component acid-catalyzed paint. The solid content of the paint is high, and it has good filling and hiding power.

Easy to sand

Diccoplast Primer dries fast and it is easy to sand. It is a basic product for various application areas. The primer can be used even under water-borne products.

Diccoplast Primer is mostly used for:

Stain, lacquer and paint systems for wood industries

Diccoplast Primer - Acid-catalyzed primer

Diccoplast Primer
DESCRIPTION A two-component acid-catalyzed primer.
PRODUCT FEATURES A fast drying primer with good filling and sanding properties.
Recommended uses Recommended for furniture, doors and other similar wooden and fibre board surfaces.

Colour Range White 0201 and black 0202.
Gloss groups Matt
Emission classification Emission levels of this paint fulfils the E1-classification. Paint has been tested according to EN 717-1, and formaldehyde emission is less than 0.124 mg/m3 air.

Recommended spreading amounts (unthinned)

Theoretical coverage

Application method

Airless spraying, air assisted airless spraying and conventional spraying.

Application (+23°C)

For airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately10–20% to the viscosity

25–60s (DIN 4). Nozzle tip 0.011"–0.015" and the nozzle pressure 80–140 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.

For air-assisted airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 5–20% to the viscosity 25–60s (DIN 4). Nozzle tip 0.011"0.015" and the nozzle pressure 40–120 bar. Atomising air pressure should be about 1–3 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.

For conventional spraying, the product is thinned approximately10–20% to the viscosity 25–40s (DIN 4). Nozzle tip 1.4–1.8 mm and the nozzle pressure

2–3 bar.

Pot-life (+23°C) 48 hours.
Drying times

30–40 min

Stacking temperature below +35 ºC.

Drying and recoating times are related to the film thickness, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation.
Special feature Recommended topcoats: Diccoplast 30, Diccoplast 80 and Diccoplast 30 Tix.
Solids volume 53±2% by volume, 71±2% by weight.
Density 1,4 kg/l.

Application conditions The surface to be treated has to be clean and dry. During application and drying the temperature of the air, the surface to be treated and the primer has to be over +18ºC and the relative humidity of the air below 70%.
Preparation Wood material must be sanded with sanding paper P150–240. Sanding between primer and top coat can be done with sanding paper P240–400. All sanding dust must be removed.
Mixing of components Stir the paint carefully before use. Add 10% by volume Hardener 006 2098 and mix again carefully. Thin the paint to the viscosity required with Thinner 1027 or 1033.

Do not use iron containers as mixing container. Instead use plastic, enamel or acid resistant steel containers.
Cleaning of tools Thinner 1027 or 1033.
EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value The Volatile Organic Compounds amount is 400 g/litre of paint.
Maximum VOC content in ready to use paint (thinned 20 % by volume) is 480 g/l.
VOC 2004/42/EC (catA/j) 500 g/l (2010).

according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008
