Fontefloor EP Clear - Environmental- and user-friendly lacquer
Fontefloor EP ClearA two-component water-borne epoxy lacquer, that can be used on top of new and eailer coated with water-borne and solvent-borne products surfaces.
Fontefloor EP Clear is recommended for moderate mechanical and chemical stress in industrial, workshop, storage facilities, as well as hospitals and the pharmaceutical industry. It provides good surface protection for Design-floors.

Complete water-borne system for concrete floor
Now we are offering complete environmental- and user-friendly Fontefloor EP coating system for concrete floors. A significant advantage of this system is that you need only one hardener or the same EP Hardener can be used for all Fontefloor EP products.
Replacing solvent-borne coatings with high-performance water-borne alternatives can offer many advantages:
- Reduced solvent exposure and associated health risks
- Fewer concerns with flammability and the impact on insurance costs
- Easy soap-and-water clean-up

Application instruction of Fontefloor EP water-borne coating system
Overcoating may be carried out 16-24 hour after priming by applying Fontefloor EP 100 thinned 0-30 % with water.
Topcoating with varnish is done with unthinned or 5-10% thinned Fontefloor EP Clear.
Anti-slipping performance of the varnish can be enhanced by adding Tikkurila anti-slip agent. Furthermore, design and mosaic floors can be created.

Fontefloor EP Clear - Water-borne epoxy lacquer
|DESCRIPTION||A two-component water-borne epoxy lacquer.|
For lacquering of new, old and earlier painted concrete surfaces. To be used on top of Fontefloor EP 100 and other Temafloor coatings.
Also suitable for dust binding and lacquering of concrete walls.

Drying and recoating times are related to the film thickness, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation.

|Application conditions||The relative humidity of the concrete should not exceed 97%. The temperature of the ambient air, surface or coating should not fall below +15ºC during application or drying. Relative humidity of air should not exceed 80 %.|
Remove laitance by power grinding or hydrochloric acid etching. Choose the method best suited for the premises. After grinding remove dust carefully with a vacuum cleaner. Hydrochloric acid etching is carried out with diluted hydrochloric acid (1 part concentrated hydrochloric acid, 4 parts water). Rinse with plenty of water. Dry the floor.
Remove all grease, oil, chemicals and other impurities by MAALIPESU detergent. Remove old peeling paint layer by grinding. Clean out pot-holes removing all loose friable material. Open cracks with e.g. an abrasive tool. Remove loose material and dust.
|Priming||Prime with 20–30% thinned Fontefloor EP Clear lacquer. Add always the water needed to a ready mixture and stir thoroughly. Pour the mixture onto the floor, apply with a rubber trowel and level with a roller.|
|Patching||Fill holes and cracks with a mixture of unthinned Fontefloor EP Clear and dry, clean sand. Mixing ratio e.g. 1 part by volume of mixture and 1–2 parts by volume of sand of grain size 0.1–0.6 mm. Sand the patched areas before finishing.
Note! Concrete surface should always be primed before patching.
|Overcoating||Finishing should be done not earlier than 16 hrs after the priming. If the primed surface is not overcoated within 48 hrs, it should be abraded.
Use 20–30% water to thin the Fontefloor EP Clear lacquer for the topcoat. Pour the mixture onto the floor, apply with a rubber trowel and level with a roller. Apply as thin as possible.
Note! There is a natural tendency of epoxy coatings to chalk and discolor on exterior exposure.
|Mixing of components||First stir base and hardener separately. Mix the correct proportions of base and hardener thoroughly (3–5 minutes) by using a low speed industrial hand drill with a paddle. Insufficient mixing or incorrect mixing ratio will result in uneven drying of the surface, weaken the properties of the coating and risk the success of the application.|
|Cleaning of tools||Water. Equipment should be cleaned immediately after use before the lacquer has dried.|

This product is tested and CE-labelled in accordance with the tables 1d and 1f in the
