Pinja Pro Primer is a water-borne all-round primer for fine-sawn timber.

Flexible alkyd primer

Pinja Pro Primer provides protection for up to 10 months and can be recoated with water-borne or solvent-borne topcoats.

DESCRIPTION An all-around water-borne primer for fine-sawn timber.

Gives good protection for 6 - 10 months.

Economical primer for claddings.

For either water-borne or alkyd topcoat.

Recommended uses Suitable for priming of boards and panels for exterior cladding.

Drying and recoating times are related to the film thickness, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation.

Application conditions The surface to be treated has to be clean and dry. The moisture content of wood has to be below 19%. During application and drying temperature of the air, substrate and paint must be over +5°C and relative humidity of the air below 80%. Good ventilation is required to ensure optimal result. Product can be dried with or without oven.
Preparation Clean surfaces from dirt, dust and loose material. Assure that surface is free from mould and blue stain.
Diluting Water.
Overcoating Finish the surfaces with Pika-Teho, Vinha, Ultra or Teho at the earliest after 24 hours from priming.

Choose the colour of the primer in accordance with the colour of the finishing paint.
Painting Stir the product carefully before use. Avoid making foam.

For airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 5–10% to the viscosity
30–40s (DIN4). Recommended nozzle tip is 0.013”–0.015" and pressure 120–180 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.

For air-assisted airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 5–10% to the viscosity 30–40s (DIN4). Recommended nozzle tip is 0.013”–0.015” and pressure 40–140 bar. Atomising air pressure should be about 1–3 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.

Vacuum application according to manufacturer's instructions.

Wood contains resin and other coloring extractives especially in knots. Temperature and humidity fluctuations may cause paint coat discoloration in these areas.
Cleaning of tools Water.
EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value The Volatile Organic Compounds amount is 8 g/litre of paint.
Maximum VOC content in ready to use paint (thinned 10% by volume) is 8 g/l.
