Temalac AB 70 - Alkyd topcoat
|DESCRIPTION||A one-component glossy alkyd topcoat.|
|PRODUCT FEATURES||A glossy alkyd based topcoat for metal surfaces indoors and outdoors. Good gloss and color retention also in industrial climate. Application also by brush. Can also be used on wood.|
|Recommended uses||Recommended especially for on-site painting of bridges, storage tank exteriors, structural steel and other steel surfaces.|
|Colour Cards||RAL, NCS, SSG, BS, MONICOLOR NOVA and SYMPHONY colour cards. TEMASPEED tinting.|
Practical coverage depends on the application method, painting conditions and the shape and roughness of the surface to be coated
|Thinner||1050 and 1006|
|Application method||By airless or conventional spray or by brush.|
Drying and recoating times are related to the film thickness, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation.
|Solids volume||51 ± 2 volume % (ISO 3233)

|Density||1.1 - 1.2 kg / l depending on color.|
|Application conditions||All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from contamination. The temperature of the ambient air, surface and paint should not fall below +5ºC during application and drying. Relative humidity of the air should not exceed 80% during application and drying. The surface temperature of steel should remain at least 3°C above the dew point. Good ventilation and sufficient air movement is required in confined areas during application and drying.|
|Preparation||Primed surfaces: Oil, grease, salt and dirt are removed from the surface by appropriate means. Repair any damage to the primer coat. Note the overcoating time of primer. (ISO 12944-4)|
|Priming||Temaprime AB, Temaprime EE, Temaprime EUR, Temaprime GF, Temaprime ML and Fontecryl 10.
|Finishing||Temalac AB 70.
Note! Use of Thinner 1006 is recommended when overcoating on Temaprime EE, EUR, GF and ML.
|Painting||Stir the product carefully before use.
For airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–15%. Recommended nozzle tip is 0.011"–0.015" and pressure 120–160 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.
For conventional spraying, the product is thinned approximately 20–25%. Recommended nozzle tip is 1.4–1.8 mm and pressure 3–4 bar.
|Cleaning of tools||Thinner 1050 or Thinner 1006.|
|EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value||The Volatile Organic Compounds amount is 413 g/litre of paint.
VOC content of the paint (thinned 25% by volume) is 496 g/l.
