PRODUCT DATA SHEET
Merit Sanding - Acid-catalysed lacquer
|DESCRIPTION||A one-component acid-catalysed lacquer.|
A fast drying priming lacquer, easy to sand.
Aromatic solvent free.
Contains UV-protective agent.
Maintains the natural light colour of the wood.
|Recommended uses||Recommended for furniture, doors and other similar wooden surfaces indoors.|
|Emission classification||The emission level of this product fullfils the requirements of E1 calssification for surface treatment materias. The product has been tested according to the standard EN 717-1, and its formaldehyde emission rate is less than 0.124 mg/ m³ air.|
Practical coverage depends on the application method, painting conditions and the shape and roughness of the surface to be coated.
|Thinner||1033 and 1035|
Airless spraying, air assisted airless spraying and conventional spraying.
Airless application with the viscosity 20–40 s (DIN 4) can be reached with approximately 0–20 % of thinning. Nozzle tip 0.011"–0.015" and the nozzle pressure 100–140 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.
Air assisted airless application with the viscosity 20–40 s (DIN 4) can be reached with approximately 0–20 % of thinning. Nozzle tip 0.011"–0.015" and the nozzle pressure 40–120 bar. Atomising air pressure is recommended to be used with pressure 2–3 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.
Conventional application with the viscosity 20–40 s (DIN 4) can be reached with approximately 0–20 % of thinning. Nozzle tip 1.4–1.8 mm is recommended to be used with pressure 2–3 bar.
Stacking temperature below 35ºC.
Drying and recoating times are related to the film thickness, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation.
Merit 20, Merit 30, Merit 80, Merit Topas 25 and Merit Rubin 25.
|Solids volume||Volume solids 21±2 %
Weight solids 33±2 %
|Product code||005 2722|
|Application conditions||The surface to be treated has to be clean and dry. During application and drying the temperature of the air, the surface to be treated and the lacquer has to be over +18ºC and the relative humidity of the air below 70%.|
|Preparation||Wood surfaces should be sanded with sandpaper P150–240. Lacquered surfaces should be sanded with sandpaper P240–400. All sanding dust must be removed before lacquering.|
|Mixing of components||Stir the lacquer carefully before use. Thin the lacquer to the viscosity required with Thinner 1033 or 1035.
Do not use iron containers as mixing container. Instead use plastic, enamel or acid resistant steel containers.
|Cleaning of tools||Thinner 1033 or 1035.|
|EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value||The Volatile Organic Compounds amount is 640 g/l of paint.
Maximum VOC content in ready to use paint (thinned 20 % by volume) is 670 g/l.
