Ultra Pro 30 - Polyacrylate exterior topcoat

Ultra Pro
DESCRIPTION Water-borne one-component, polyacrylate exterior topcoat with optimal price-quality ratio.
PRODUCT FEATURES Suitable for fast production lines and drying in elevated temperature as well as in room temperature.
Contains alkyd for improved adhesion to bare wood. The paint can be used as a primer and a topcoat.
Can be coated with Ultra Classic paint in building site, if needed.
2 x Ultra Pro 30 provides excellent protection against water penetration, and thus suppresses cracking of timber by preventing water uptake also through the edges.
Recommended uses Suitable for exterior wooden panels and cladding etc.

TECHNICAL DATA
Features Outstanding protection against weathering, moisture, sunlight and dirt.

The paint can be dried in convectional air drying oven with temperature +40–60°C. The colors of VC-base paint might need longer drying time than the colours of VVA-base.

Drying and recoating times are related to the wet film thickness, color shade, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation.

APPLICATION DETAILS
Application conditions The surface to be treated has to be clean and dry. The moisture content of wood has to be below 20%. During application and drying temperature of the air, substrate and paint must be over +10°C and relative humidity of the air below 70%. Good ventilation is also very important.
Preparation Clean surfaces from dirt, dust and loose material. Assure that surface is free from mold and blue stain.
Priming Ultra Pro 30 is recommended to be used both as a primer and a topcoat.
Application Stir the paint carefully before use. Avoid flotation.
For airless spraying the product is thinned approximately 0–5%. Recommended nozzle tip is 0.013"–0.015" and pressure 140–180 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.
For air-assisted airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–5%. Recommended nozzle tip is 0.013"–0.015" and pressure 40–140 bar. Atomising air pressure should be about 1–3 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.
For conventional spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–5%. Recommended nozzle tip is 1.6–2.0 mm and pressure 2–3 bar.

Wood contains resin and other colouring extractives especially in knots. Temperature and humidity fluctuations may cause paint coat discolouration in these areas.
Thinning Paint is recommended to be used without thinning. If needed thin with water max. 5%.
Overcoating Can be coated with Ultra Classic paint in building site, if needed.

Cleaning of tools Water or Tikkurila Tool Cleaner.
EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value According to VOC Directive 2004/42/EU the product subcategory A/d VOC limit (1.1.2010) is maximum 130 g/l. VOC content of "Ultra Pro 30" is 30±10 g/l.
