Ultra Pro Plus 30 - Polyacrylate exterior topcoat
|DESCRIPTION||Water-borne one-component, polyacrylate exterior topcoat with highest quality on the market.|
Contains alkyd for improved adhesion to bare wood. The paint can be used as a primer and a top coat.
Suitable for fast production lines and drying in elevated temperature as well as in room temperature.
Retards tannin staining and seepage of tannins from knots.
2 x Ultra Pro Plus 30 provides excellent protection against water penetration, and thus suppresses cracking of timber by preventing water uptake also through the edges.
|Recommended uses||Suitable for exterior wooden panels, claddings, etc.|
|Features||Outstanding protection against weathering.
Extremely low water absorption, decreases the moisture cracking of the wood.
Listed in the database for building products that can be used in Nordic Swan Ecolabelled buildings.
Forms a fast-drying and elastic film with low water permeability properties.
|Colour Range||The shades on the Wooden Facades color card for exterior use. RAL and NCS color cards.|
|Colour Cards||Avatint tinting system.|
Practical coverage depends on the application method, painting conditions and the shape and roughness of the surface to be coated.
Airless spraying, air-assisted airless spraying, conventional spraying, brushing machine or vacuum.
The paint can be dried in convectional air drying oven with temperature +40–60°C.
Drying and recoating times are related to the wet film thickness, color shade, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation.
|Solids volume||A-base paint: 40 volume-%
C-base paint: 36 volume-%
A-base paint: 50 weight-%
C-base paint: 40 weight-%
|Density||1.20 kg/l (A-base), 1.07 kg/l (C-base)|
|Application conditions||The surface to be treated has to be clean and dry. The moisture content of wood has to be below 20%. During application and drying temperature of the air, substrate and paint must be over +10°C and relative humidity of the air below 70%. Good ventilation is also very important.|
|Preparation||Clean surfaces from dirt, dust and loose material. Assure that surface is free from mold and blue stain.|
|Priming||Ultra Pro Plus 30 is recommended to be used both as a primer and a top coat.|
|Application||Stir the product carefully before use. Avoid making foam.
For airless spraying the product is thinned approximately 0–5%. Recommended nozzle tip is 0.013"–0.015" and pressure 140–180 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.
For air-assisted airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–5%. Recommended nozzle tip is 0.013"–0.015" and pressure 40–140 bar. Atomising air pressure should be about 1–3 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.
For conventional spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–5%. Recommended nozzle tip is 1.6–2.0 mm and pressure 2–3 bar.
Wood contains resin and other coloring extractives especially in knots. Temperature and humidity fluctuations may cause paint coat discoloration in these areas.
|Thinning||Paint is recommended to be used without thinning. If needed thin with water max. 5%.|
|Overcoating||Can be coated with Ultra Classic paint in building site, if needed.|
|Cleaning of tools||Water or Tikkurila Tool Cleaner.|
|EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value||According to VOC Directive 2004/42/EU the product subcategory A/d VOC limit (1.1.2010) is maximum 130 g/l. VOC content of "Ultra Pro Plus 30" is 35±10 g/l.|
