PRODUCT DATA SHEET
Akvi Primer - Water-borne acrylate paint
|DESCRIPTION||A water-borne all-around acrylate primer.|
A fast-drying primer with excellent sanding properties which makes it suitable for fast production lines.
Dries fast even in room temperature.
Recoatable either with water-borne or solvent-borne products.
|Recommended uses||Suitable for furniture, doors, mouldings and other wooden surface in interior premises.|
Practical coverage depends on the application method, painting conditions and the shape and roughness of the surface to be coated.
|Thinner||Water and Akvi Thinner|
Airless spraying, air-assisted airless spraying and conventional spraying.
Drying and recoating times are related to the film thickness, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation.
|Solids volume||41±2% by volume
58±2% by weight
|Product code||006 5021|
|Application conditions||The surface to be treated has to be clean and dry. The moisture content of wood has to be below 20%. During application and drying temperature of the air, substrate and paint must be over +18°C and relative humidity of the air below 70%. Good ventilation is required to ensure optimal result. Product can be dried with or without oven.
|Preparation||Remove dust, loose particles and other impurities from the surface. Wood surfaces must be sanded with sandpaper P150–320. Sanding prior to the next application with sandpaper P240–400. All sanding dust must be removed.|

|Application||For airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–10% to the viscosity
40–80s (DIN4). Recommended nozzle tip is 0.011"–0.015"and pressure 100–160 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.
For air-assisted airless spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–10% to the viscosity 40–80s (DIN4). Recommended nozzle tip is 0.011"–0.015" and pressure
40–120 bar. Atomising air pressure should be about 1–3 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.
For conventional spraying, the product is thinned approximately 0–10% to the viscosity 40–80 (DIN4). Recommended nozzle tip is 1.4–1.8 mm and pressure 2–3 bar.
