Temafloor AC 509

A two-component, solvent-free, low-viscosity acrylic binder. Temafloor AC 509 is especially suitable for humid indoors premises as a binder for Temafloor AC troweling screed or as a self-leveling coating.

Quick and cost-effective product

Due to its hardening mechanism, the floor dries quickly and can be loaded as soon as two hours after coating. Thanks to their drying speed, the Temafloor AC coating systems are particularly suitable for
premises where the available working time is limited, such as at industrial production facilities. All Temafloor AC products can be applied in low temperatures.

The Temafloor AC floor coating system for humid facilities provides many significant benefits: protects against moisture, prevents the absorbtion of various greases and chemicals, can be washed with + 80 °C water and can be roughened to prevent slipperiness.

For a flat substrate:


2 mm layer: 2 litres ready to use screed / m2

Application method Priming: Temafloor AC102 Primer is applied with a rubber trowel and level with a roller.

Coating: Temafloor AC509 mixture is applied with serrated spatula. Screeded surface is rubbed by hand or used scattering technique.

Topcoat Temafloor AC609 Clear lacquer mixture is applied with a rubber trowel and level with a roller.

Application conditions The relative humidity of the concrete should not exceed 97%. The temperature of the ambient air, surface or coating should not fall below +5ºC during either application or drying. Relative humidity of air should not exceed 80 %.
Preparation New concrete
Remove laitance by power grinding, vacuum grit blasting or hydrochloric acid etching. Choose the method best suited for the premises. After grinding remove dust carefully with a vacuum cleaner. Hydrochloric acid etching is carried out with diluted hydrochloric acid (1 part concentrated hydrochloric acid, 4 parts water). Rinse with plenty of water. Dry the floor.

Old concrete
Remove all grease, oil, chemicals and other impurities by MAALIPESU detergent. Remove old peeling paint layer by grinding, milling or vacuum grit blasting. Choose the method best suited for the premises. Clean out pot-holes removing all loose friable material. Open cracks with e.g. an abrasive tool. Remove loose material and dust.
Priming Prime using Temafloor AC102 acrylic primer. Pour the primer mixture onto the floor and apply by the trowel or roller as much as is needed to impregnate the concrete surface. If necessary, repeat priming to get a non-porous surface. Subsequent treatment can be carried out after 30 min.

Scatter sand of grain size 0,4–0,8 mm on the fresh primer coat to ensure the screed adhesion and prohibit gliding of the screed.
Patching Patch pot-holes and cracks with a mixture of unthinned Temafloor AC509 and dry, clean sand. Mixing ratio e.g. 1 part by volume of varnish mixture and 1–2 parts by volume of sand of grain size 0,5–1,2 mm.

The floor can be levelled by using Temafloor AC509 and sand of grain size 0,1–0,3 mm.
Diluting Do not thin.
Screeding Pour the Temafloor AC509 mixture onto the floor. Apply by an adjustable trowel to the desired thickness. Trowel the screeded surface manually or use broadcasting technique.
Lacquering Topcoating can be carried out after the screed has cured. Topcoating can be carried out with Temafloor AC609 Clear or Temafloor AC610 Clear topcoat. Pour the varnish mixture onto the floor, spread with a rubber trowel and level with a roller.
Mixing of components Mix the correct proportions of base and hardener powder thoroughly (approx. 2 minutes) by using a hand drill with a paddle, concrete mixer or power mixer. The amount of mixture depends on the area to be coated and on the pot life of the mixture. Insufficient mixing or incorrect mixing ratio will result in uneven drying of the surface, weaken the properties of the screed and risk the success of the application.
Cleaning of tools Cleaning of equipment with Thinner 006 1400.
