Temafloor PU Flex - Flexible polyurethane coating
Elongation at break 180%
This polyurethane coating has excellent elastic properties and elongation at break value of 180% (7 days).
As a self-leveling coating, it can easily be applied with serrated or steel trowel without shrinking and cracking problems.
Extremely low VOC-content
The big advantage is that it is a solvent-free product with VOC-content of less than 10 g/l. It got M1 approval and accordingly emits extremely low levels of compounds into the atmosphere.

Temafloor PU Flex - Elastic polyurethane coating

|Pot-life (+23°C)||15 minutes on substrate, 10 minutes on the mixing container. Pour the whole mixture onto the floor all at once.|

|Application conditions||The relative humidity of the concrete should not exceed 97%. The temperature of the ambient air, surface or coating should not fall below +15ºC during application or drying. Relative humidity of air should not exceed 70%.|
Remove laitance by power grinding, vacuum grit blasting or hydrochloric acid etching. Choose the method best suited for the premises. After grinding remove dust carefully with a vacuum cleaner. Hydrochloric acid etching is carried out with diluted hydrochloric acid (1 part concentrated hydrochloric acid, 4 parts water). Rinse with plenty of water. Dry the floor.
Remove all grease, oil, chemicals and other impurities by Maalipesu detergent. Remove old peeling paint layer by grinding, milling or vacuum grit blasting. Choose the method best suited for the premises. Clean out pot-holes removing all loose friable material. Open cracks with e.g. an abrasive tool. Remove loose material and dust.
Cementitious levelling screed
If cementitious screed is used, check compatibility with the levelling screed manufacturer.
|Priming||Prime using Temafloor 400 or Temafloor 220W epoxy varnish thinned 30–50% with Thinner 1029 or Fontefloor EP Primer epoxy varnish thinned about 20–50% with water. Pour the primer onto the floor and apply as much as is needed to impregnate the concrete surface. If necessary, repeat priming to get a non-porous surface. Subsequent treatment can be carried out after 2 hours using "wet-on-wet" technique. A porous priming coat will result in holes and air bubbles in the finished coating.
Scatter sand of grain size Ø 0,1–0,6 mm on the fresh primer coat to ensure the screed adhesion.
|Patching||Patch pot-holes and cracks with a mixture of unthinned Temafloor 400 or Fontefloor EP Primer and dry, clean sand. Mixing ratio e.g. 1 part by volume of varnish mixture and 1–2 parts by volume of sand of grain size 0.1–0.6 mm. Sand the patched areas before overcoating, if necessary.|
|Diluting||Do not thin Temafloor PU Flex polyurethane coating.|
|Painting||Overcoating may be done within 16–24 hrs after priming and patching. If the primed surface is not overcoated within 24 hrs, it should be abraded.
Pour the mixture onto the floor and apply it with a trowel and level with a roller. Control that the thickness of layer is correct by observing coating consumption and by measuring the film thickness. Recommended layer thickness is 1–2 mm. Use spiked roller to finish the surface approx. 10 min after application. Spiked roller helps removing air bubbles from the coating.
Note! Add the remaining mixture to the next batch of the coating, do not scrape it out of the container onto the floor.
|Mixing of components||First stir base and hardener separately. Mix the correct proportions of base and hardener thoroughly (approx. 2 minutes to get homogenous mixture) by using a low speed industrial hand drill with a paddle. Insufficient mixing or incorrect mixing ratio will result in uneven drying of the surface, weaken the properties of the coating and risk the success of the application.|
