PRODUCT DATA SHEET
Diccoplast Elastic Primer - Acid-catalyzed primer
|DESCRIPTION||A two-component acid-catalyzed primer.|
A fast drying paint for interior and exterior use.
Good filling and sanding properties. Gives an elastic film.
|Recommended uses||Recommended for exterior doors, furniture and MDF-boards.|
|Colour Range||White 0201.|
|Emission classification||Emission levels of this paint fulfils the E1-classification. Paint has been tested according to EN 717-1, and formaldehyde emission is less than 0.124 mg/m3 air.|
Practical coverage depends on the application method, painting conditions and the shape and roughness of the surface to be coated.
|Thinner||1027 and 1033|
|Mixing ratio||Paint 100 parts by volume 691-series
Hardener 10 parts by volume 006 2098
Airless spraying, air assisted airless spraying and conventional spraying.
Application (+23 °C)
Airless application with the viscosity 25–50 s (DIN 4) can be reached with approximately 5–20 % of thinning. Nozzle tip 0.011"–0.015" and the nozzle pressure 80–180 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.
Air assisted airless application with the viscosity 25–50 s (DIN 4) can be reached with approximately 5–20 % of thinning. Nozzle tip 0.011"–0.015" and the nozzle pressure 40–120 bar. Atomising air pressure should be about 1–3 bar. Spray angle shall be chosen according to the shape of the object.
Conventional application with the viscosity 20–50 s (DIN 4) can be reached with approximately 10–20 % thinning. Nozzle tip 1.4–1.8 mm and the nozzle pressure
|Pot-life (+23°C)||48 hours.|
Stacking temperature below 35ºC.
Drying and recoating times are related to the film thickness, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation.
|Solids volume||Volume solids 57±2 %
Weight solids 73±2 %
|Application conditions||The surface to be treated has to be clean and dry. During application and drying the temperature of the air, the surface to be treated and the primer has to be over +18ºC and the relative humidity of the air below 70%.|
|Preparation||Wood material must be sanded with sanding paper P150–240. Sanding between primer and top coat can be done with sanding paper P240–400. All sanding dust must be removed.|
|Painting||Recommended topcoats: Diccoplast 30, Diccoplast 80, Diccoplast 30 Tix and Dicco Flex 30.|
|Mixing of components||Stir the paint carefully before use. Add 10% by volume Hardener 006 2098 and mix again carefully. Thin the paint to the viscosity required with Thinner 1027 or 1033.
Do not use iron containers as mixing container. Instead use plastic, enamel or acid resistant steel containers.
|Cleaning of tools||Thinner 1027 or 1033.|
|EU VOC 2004/42/EC-limit value||The Volatile Organic Compounds amount is 370 g/litre of paint.
Maximum VOC content in ready to use paint (thinned 30% by volume) is 460 g/l.
VOC 2004/42/EC (catA/j) 500 g/l (2010).
|HEALTH AND SAFETY LABELLING|
